Community Guidelines and Terms & Conditions

Before you get started, we want to share some information to help ensure you get the most out of your Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect experience.

TourConnect does not endorse the accuracy or applicability of user generated content in the Community. Content may be posted by users in countries different from yours.

TourConnect has the right to reject or remove any content. By using the TourConnect Community, you acknowledge and agree to the TourConnect Industry Community Agreement.

COMMUNITY GENERAL GUIDELINES

The Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect is a forum for members to assist other members, and is not an avenue to reach customer support. If you require immediate assistance, assistance directly from TourConnect, or account specific information, please contact customer support.

Another community member is not an employee of TourConect and is providing assistance to you as a fellow customer. TourConnect employees will post in the Community from time to time, but they will always be marked as an employee. This is noted by the TourConnect logo next to their user ID. Courteous and respectful posting is expected of all participants. Please remember that all community members are here voluntarily. If another member has taken the time to ask a question, answer a question, or provide new information, they are doing so on their own time and are looking to you as a fellow community member to respond appropriately.

Posts or images that do not meet the courteous and respectful criteria may be removed.

There are circumstances that may result in your post being removed, warnings, removal of permissions, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Community. These circumstances include, but are not limited to:

  • Including your own or another person’s contact information, physical address, email address, full name, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information in a post or image. This includes any email address, phone number or other contact information to help us combat phishing and spam.

  • Including profanity, vulgarity, hate speech, disruptive or hostile comments, interpersonal disputes, or threats of violence in a post, image, tag, profile information or private message

  • Uploading inappropriate avatar images

  • Making repetitive posts or images

  • Excessive thread "bumping". Thread bumping is an action with the primary purpose of returning a thread to the top of the list.

  • Inappropriate use of tags

  • Posting Feedback or Suggestions outside of the "Suggestions for TourConnect" board.

  • Advertising of any sort (including merchandise, auctions, services, commercial web sites, referrals, offers to trade, or "wanted" posts)

  • Soliciting donations or fundraising

  • Using JavaScript or active code in a post or otherwise taking actions that interfere with site operations.

  • Posting Web addresses (URLs) or Web Sites in the title of a threaded discussion

  • Attempting to circumvent or circumventing filters

  • Attempting to impersonate TourConnect staff or other members

  • Refusal to follow moderation team instructions

  • Repeated misuse of the "Report Inappropriate Content" flags or other escalation tools

  • Posting or discussing listing reports or member violations

  • Posting about or discussing post edits, post removals, image removals, warnings, suspensions, member bans, or other actions taken by the moderation team

  • Including material (graphic or text) that is obscene, pornographic, or adult in nature

  • Circumventing an existing suspension or member ban

  • Encouraging others to violate the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum User Agreement, policies, or the TourConnect User Agreement

  • Posting material that in any way violates the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum User Agreement or the TourConnect User Agreement

  • Posting as a customer when you work for TourConnect, TourConnect subsidiaries, or TourConnect partners. All users working for TourConnect must be designated as employees in the community.

  • Registering for a TourConnect community account using a temporary email address service. We do not permit community accounts using throwaway email services to help combat spam and fraud.

  • Posting in another language that is not supported in the community. The community currently supports English only. To help maintain a safe and friendly environment, we do not permit languages which cannot be reviewed by the moderator teams. We are always looking for opportunities to support additional languages in the future as well. Thanks for your understanding.

If you encounter a violation of any of these rules, please report it to the moderation team for review. To do this, select "Flag" from the icons below the message off the offending post. Please do not use this option for any other purpose.

This Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum User Agreement (“Agreement”) is a contract between you and TourConnect and applies to your use of Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum. The Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum can only be accessed by TourConnect users. This Agreement applies to you in addition to the User Agreement and other applicable agreements. All capitalized terms shall have the definitions provided in this Agreement, or if a definition is not provided in this Agreement, the definition in the User Agreement shall apply. You must read, agree with and accept all of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement in order to use the Community Forum. We may amend this Agreement at any time by posting a revised version on our website. The revised version will be effective at the time we post it. In addition, if the revised version includes a Substantial Change, we will provide you with 30 Days’ prior notice of Substantial Change by posting notice on the “Policy Updates” page of our website.

1. User Content.

The Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum contains information and material posted by users ("User Content") and helps users communicate with others on subject matters relating to their use of TourConnect.

Any opinions or information made available as part of such User Content are those of the respective users and not of TourConnect. Each user’s situation is different, so it is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, usefulness and applicability of User Content. TourConnect does not endorse and is not responsible for the accuracy, usefulness or applicability of User Content. User Content may be inaccurate, inappropriate or offensive. If the possibility of encountering inaccurate, inappropriate or offensive User Content is not acceptable to you, you should not use the Community Forum.

Please report inappropriate or offensive content, policy violations or other problems (other than intellectual property infringement claims, which are covered in section 6) using the "Flag for Moderator" option.

2. Content Regulation.

The following are examples of violations that may result in immediate post removal, sanctions or suspension from the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum:

  • Violating any laws or this Agreement or infringing any third party rights;
  • Posting any material that is false, misleading, defamatory or invasive of another person’s right of privacy or right of publicity;
  • Posting any material that is harmful, obscene, harassing, objectionable or otherwise unfit for publication;
  • Imposing an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or otherwise harming TourConnect or interfering with the proper working of the Community Forum;
  • Collecting information about others without their consent;
  • Copying, modifying or distributing the Community Forum content or any other person’s content or otherwise infringing on the rights of TourConnect or other users (including but not limited to copyrights and trademark rights);
  • Using any material obtained through the Community Forum for commercial purposes.

3. Actions We May Take.

3.1 Breach of Terms.

We may limit or terminate your use of the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum or any of the TourConnect Services, if we think in our sole judgment you are creating problems or acting inconsistently with this Agreement.

3.2. Right to Reject Content.

TourConnect may in its sole discretion reject or remove any User Content if it is abusive, defamatory or offensive or for any other reason we deem appropriate.

3.3 Monitoring.

TourConnect shall have no obligation to monitor User Content, but may do so at its sole discretion. TourConnect is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing any material from the Community Forum.

4. Submission.

4.1 Content You Post.

You represent that any User Content you provide is accurate, is not confidential, and is not protected by any other party’s intellectual property rights or other rights. You agree that you will indemnify TourConnect for all claims resulting from any User Content you supply.

4.2 License Grant.

You license and grant TourConnect the right to duplicate, publish and copy User Content you supply. You represent that you have sufficient rights in User Content you supply to make this license and grant.

4.3 Submission Related to TourConnect’s Products or Services.

In the event that User Content you supply includes suggestions, comments or other feedback with respect to TourConnect’s current or future products or Services ("Feedback"), the following will apply:

  • All Feedback shall be given entirely voluntarily;
  • Feedback, even if marked confidential, shall not create any confidentiality obligations on TourConnect;
  • TourConnect shall be free to use, disclose, reproduce, distribute and otherwise commercialize all Feedback that you provide without any obligation to you or restriction of any kind; and
  • You waive all rights to be compensated or seek compensation for Feedback.

5. Risks of Using the Forum.

TourConnect provides the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum "as-is" and does not guarantee uptime or availability.

You are advised to not use your full name or give out any personal information about yourself or anybody else via the Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum.

Under no circumstances will TourConnect be liable for any loss or damage caused by use of the Community Forum, reliance on information obtained through the Community Forum or otherwise arising from any Community Forum content.

6. Reporting Intellectual Property Infringements.

We respect the intellectual property of others and require that Tourism Industry Community by TourConnect Forum users comply with relevant intellectual property laws. We may, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, limit or terminate use of the Community Forum or any of the TourConnect Services for users who supply User Content which is subject to intellectual property rights claims.
